Don't Wait For Black Friday

As we’re entering September, you’ll start hearing more and more about Black Friday.

Your competitors will be hearing about it too but most of brands will ignore the highest leverage task they should start doing now.

And that thing is sending campaigns regularly.

I know there are dozens of other aspects for a successful Black Friday like figuring out your offer, unit economics, start date, etc.

But the one thing you should start doing right now is emailing your list frequently and that’s for a simple reason.

When Black Friday actually comes, pretty much every single brand will send some kind of email to their list.

The problem with that is if they haven’t been sending campaigns weekly, their recipients won’t know who that is, what they do and why they should care.

As a result, they’ll just unsubscribe or mark your email as spam and that’s it.

Yes, you might make a few sales here and there but think about it - if your subscribers get emails from a competitor 2-3 times a week and then they get their first email from you on Black Friday, who do you think they’ll chose?

Which brand will they know more about, like more and recognize the name of in their inbox?

The answer is simple but I just wanted to explain why it is so important to frequently email your subscribers starting today.

Even if these campaigns don’t produce massive sales in September/October, it will pay off in November/December.

Because your engaged segments will be bigger, your subscribers will have higher awareness levels and will choose you rather than competitors.
