Hire A Freelancer vs. Agency vs. In-house team
Hey,
It's Konrad here.
There are 3 ways to build out your marketing teams after you decide it’s not worth your time managing everything yourself:
Hire a freelancer.
Hire an agency.
Build an in-house team.
As always - every option has it’s pros and cons so let me tell you a perspective of an agency owner that has taken over Klaviyo accounts from all 3.
Freelancer - usually the cheapest option but you get what you paid for. In most cases you’ll get a copy & paste templates that other brands are using. Literally the exact same emails with just adjusted button colors and images.
Agency - bad agencies are worse than freelancers cause they make you think you’re all set while your emails are performing poorly. But good agency has an expertise solely in this field + has insights from other accounts they manage. And usually you’ll get a dedicated team for the fraction of the cost which should get you great results.
In-house team - hands down the most expensive option but not really the best one. In-house teams are often marketers/marketing experts but not email experts. The lack of email-specific knowledge makes brands loose thousands of dollars every day (that’s not a made up claim, we took over after one in-house team and took this brand’s revenue from $34k/mo to $262k/mo from emails alone).

Hope that helps,
Konrad
