Starting Black Friday Now?

Hey, it’s Konrad here.

There’s a weird thing happening in the market right now.

I see brands seeing slower periods since like 1-2 weeks.

Mostly it’s because it’s pre BFCM season and people are aware it’ll happen.

So they wait for the Halloween sale and then the actual BFCM sale.

Now, this is not necessarily a bad thing - in a grand scheme of things, you’ll still make up for these slower days when the time comes.

But some brands seem to be a little bit impatient and they kick off Black Friday now.

And it’s not only small brands but bigger ones too.

While some might have some strategy behind it, I personally think that running Black Friday for over a month can make your brand look cheap.

If your only way to get more sales pre BFCM is slapping a “50% OFF” discount, something is wrong.

I personally would recommend it to run it for around 2 weeks - that’s enough to be earlier than your competition and give people time to make the decision.

Of course there are some specific cases where it makes sense but I just want you to think twice before launching your BFCM sale as there’s no going back.

And to give you an extra tip - make sure you prepare big campaigns volume for November.

If brands are starting now, you can only imagine what will happen during the actual Black Friday weekend.

Cheers,
Konrad
