The Perfect Welcome Flow
Hey there,
It’s Konrad from DTC Inbox.
The welcome flow is the most important flow. Period.
But there’s always a lot of buzz when it comes to creating it.
Everyone seems to have a different strategy and approach so you don’t really know what to do.
That’s why I want to show you the welcome flow that currently works for over 30 brands doing 7 & 8-figures per year.
Current Ecommerce Trends
Before I get into what and why, I want you to understand one thing - trends change.
One year ago, our approach to the welcome flows was a bit different.
What you’re about to read is an effect of us testing multiple approaches and strategies.
To make it upfront - my team and I saved you weeks if not months of testing.
Length Matters
Not that long ago, I’d say “make your welcome flow as long as possible”.
Meaning at least 8-10 emails but ideally 12-15.
Now, I wouldn’t recommend it unless your brand is selling products that are complicated for your audience to understand.
Then you might need to keep educating them for a while.
But aside from this case, your welcome flow should be 5-8 emails long.
Before you say it’s way too short, hear me out.
I’ve seen both flows (long and short ones) and usually the short ones are condensed, to the point and each email generates sales.
Long flows on the other hand had multiple emails that tried to sell but failed to do so.
That’s why what works best for our clients right now is 5-6 emails welcome flow where we tag people and then we nurture non-buyers with campaigns.
That’s because these campaigns usually include new arrivals, current winning angles and sales or discounts.
The Perfect Structure
The structure below is what we’re currently doing and what works well:
Email #1 - Give incentive + show bestsellers/reviews
Email #2 - Clear objections/show guarantees
Email #3 - Us vs. them/USP
Email #4 - Social proof
Email #5 - Incentive last call
The delay between each email should be 1 day.
That’s because you want to deliver all these angles within the first week.
Remember to tag everyone who enters and exits the flow so you can send the segmented campaigns later on.

Video Of The Week
None of your emails will matter if your deliverability is bad.
And the key to having great deliverability and high open rates is your technical setup.
